Gold 1 Pit

Viewing Description

The Gold 1 grandstand sits on the outside of the old start/finish straight. Because Spa is so heavily terraced, this grandstand is incredibly steep, meaning even if you are further back, you get a fantastic, unobstructed look over the catch fencing.

From here, you are looking directly into the team garages and the pit lane. To your right, you will see the cars filter out of the tight, final Bus Stop chicane, flash past you at full throttle, and then slam on the brakes for the incredibly tight La Source hairpin to your left.

Highlights

The Grid & Start: You have a front-row seat to the pre-race grid tension, the tire smoke at lights out, and the mad dash into Turn 1.

Pit Action & Podium: You can watch pit stop strategies play out in real-time. As a massive bonus, the podium structure is built right on top of the pit building opposite the grandstand (centered closer to the right-hand sections of Gold 1), giving you a great view of the trophy presentation.

Track Invasion: If you like to storm the track at the end of the race for the podium ceremony, Gold 1 is ideally placed. However, security gates near the chicane and start/finish line can get incredibly bottlenecked and chaotic right after the checkered flag. Stick around the exit gates on the right side of the grandstand early if you want a spot on the tarmac.

Other Considerations

• Weather Exposure: While the grandstand is covered, it has completely open sides. Because Spa is famous for sideways, driving rain, wind blowing from the direction of La Source will leave the lower rows and the far ends of the grandstand completely soaked. Aim for higher rows (Row 5 and above) and middle sections (like Section B or C) if you want the best shelter.
• Logistics & Entry: This is one of the easiest grandstands to access on the entire property. It sits right by the La Source entrance gate. If you use the Yellow Parking lots, it’s a relatively straightforward, paved 15-to-20-minute walk down to the gate without the punishing mud or steep gravel climbs found deeper in the forest.
• Amenities: Because it’s right by the main paddock area, permanent restrooms, major Fanzone merchandise booths, and a heavy concentration of food vendors are just a short walk behind the structure.

Gold 9 Pole Position, Gold 9 BIS

Viewing Description

Situated on the left-hand side of the main straight, Gold 9 Pole Position and its extension, Gold 9 BIS, sit just past the starting grid lines (beside Gold 1 Pit). Because they are positioned on a slightly elevated natural bank, you get a clean, commanding view over the track debris fencing.

From here, you look directly across at the lower-mid section of the pit lane and team garages. The cars come flying out of the final Bus Stop chicane to your far right, rocket down the straight directly in front of you, and then hard-brake for the legendary, tight La Source hairpin to your left.

Highlights

The Launch Experience: You are in prime position to watch the front of the grid line up on their yellow marks. When the lights go out, the physical wall of sound from the cars launching right in front of you is unparalleled.

First Corner Drama: Because you are looking right down the barrel of Turn 1 (La Source), you will have a perfect view of the traditional opening-lap chaos and overtaking attempts as the field compresses into the hairpin.

The Finish Line & Podium: You can watch the checkered flag wave as the winner crosses the line. You also get a solid, though somewhat distant, view of the podium celebrations on top of the pit building to your right.

Other Considerations

• The Roof Divider: The absolute biggest factor when choosing between these twin stands is the roof. Gold 9 is covered, while Gold 9 BIS is completely uncovered. If you are sitting in BIS, you are 100% at the mercy of Spa’s unpredictable mountain weather—meaning you must pack high-quality ponchos and sunscreen. Even in the covered Gold 9, the front two rows and the outer edges can catch sideways rain if the wind picks up.
• Seat Comfort Upgrade: Gold 9 blocks feature proper fixed seat-backs as opposed to backless benches. This makes pulling a full 3-day weekend stretch significantly easier on your lower back.
• Effortless Access: Just like Gold 1, these stands are highly accessible and ideal for fans who want to skip the intense hiking Spa is known for. Located very close to the La Source entry gate, it’s a quick, mostly paved walk from the Yellow Parking lots. You won’t have to navigate heavy mud or gravel trails to reach your seat.
• Proximity to Pit Exit: Because these stands are further down the straight, you get a great look at cars exiting the pit lane at the exit of La Source. However, the physical pit lane buildings directly across the track completely block your line of sight to Eau Rouge and Raidillon.

Gold 8 Source – Start

Viewing Description

Gold 8 is widely considered one of the absolute best seats at Spa-Francorchamps. Located on the outside of the track directly at the apex of the Turn 1 La Source hairpin, the grandstand is heavily elevated above the circuit. This gives you a literal top-down perspective of the tightest corner on the track.

Looking to your right, you have a long, clear line of sight all the way back down the start/finish straight. Directly ahead, the cars brake from top speed to navigate the hairpin right in front of you which creates consistent passing opportunities through the race. At the exit, it’s full throttle down the hill and out of sight toward Eau Rouge.

Highlights

First-Lap Carnage: La Source is historically notorious for dramatic opening-lap pile-ups. Because the grid funnels from a wide straight into a bottleneck hairpin, you will have a front-row seat to the most chaotic moments of the weekend.

The Braking Show: Because the cars are coming almost straight at you before snapping left, you truly get to appreciate the physics-defying deceleration and downforce of modern racing machinery.

Overtaking Hotspot: The heavy braking zone makes Turn 1 a prime overtaking zone during the race, with plenty of drivers attempting late-braking moves or setting up switchbacks for the run down the hill.

Other Considerations

• The Section C “Tree Trap”: Pay incredibly close attention to your section assignment when buying tickets here. If you end up in Section C (higher rows), your view to the left toward the pit lane exit and the drop to Eau Rouge will be heavily obstructed by a mature line of trees standing right next to the grandstand structure (see pictures). Aim for Sections A or B to guarantee an unobstructed sweep of the circuit.
• Angle Dominance: The further to the right you sit in the grandstand (Section A), the straighter and cleaner your line of sight is looking back down the starting grid. Conversely, if you sit low down in Section C, the concrete pit wall will block your view of the actual starting line.
• Excellent Weather Shield: Gold 8 is covered. Because it sits directly behind a massive tarmac run-off area rather than right up against the track edge, the roof extends far forward enough to keep the front rows remarkably dry during Spa’s typical rainstorms. Only a severe, driving crosswind from the sides will compromise the outer seats.
• Prime Logistics: This is another highly accessible, low-effort grandstand. It sits right by the La Source gate, meaning users utilizing the Yellow Parking lots have a short, civilized, paved walk to their seats without having to brave the rugged forest terrain.

Gold 7 La Source, Gold 7 BIS, Gold 7 TER

Viewing Description

The Gold 7 grandstand complex is positioned on the downhill straight just after the exit of the Turn 1 La Source hairpin. These stands are lined up sequentially: Gold 7 BIS beside Gold 8 grandstands, then Gold 7 La Source in the middle, and Gold 7 TER closest to the corner exit.

From any seat in this block, you look directly at the acceleration zone out of the hairpin. The cars exit Turn 1, hit the throttle, and rocket down the straight right dipping out of sight as they head toward the bottom of Eau Rouge.

Highlights

The Exit Switchback: Because La Source is so tight, drivers often take different lines. You will have a prime view of drivers using the exit curb to pull off under-cut passing moves or fighting side-by-side as they drag race down the hill.

Pit Exit Strategy: These grandstands sit directly opposite the exit of the F1 pit lane. You will be the very first to see who gets track position after a critical undercut pit strategy plays out.

Distant Eau Rouge Peek: If you are sitting in the higher rows of the main Gold 7 or Gold 7 BIS (on the right), you can actually look past the old pit wall and catch a brief, distant glimpse of the cars charging up the hill of Raidillon.

Other Considerations

• The Roof Lottery: Do not assume all “Gold” tickets provide shelter at Spa. Only the main, middle Gold 7 grandstand has a roof. Gold 7 BIS and Gold 7 TER are completely exposed bleachers. To make matters trickier, the roof on the main Gold 7 is built quite high, meaning lower rows and the outermost edges will still get rained on if the wind blows sideways.
• Fencing Obstruction: Because these stands sit right along a flat, high-speed acceleration straight, the safety catch fencing is exceptionally tall. If you book rows (i.e. 1 – 8), you will be looking at the cars entirely through metal mesh, (This is great for fan safety but not so much for photography obviously). Buy tickets in Row 12 or higher to clear the fence line.
• Paddock Access & Gates: Like the other La Source stands, logistics here are incredibly easy. It is a painless, flat, 10-minute walk to the La Source entrance gate and the Yellow Parking lots. Even better, the main F1 Fan Zone, official merchandise tents, and permanent food plazas are located directly behind this grandstand complex.

Silver 1 Francorchamps

Viewing Description

Silver 1 is located on the outside of the downhill straight connecting La Source to Eau Rouge. Following major renovations, this seating area was completely rebuilt as a massive, sweeping concrete structure positioned further back from the circuit on an elevated dirt mound.

From these seats, you get a sensational view of the cars capacity for acceleration. They round the La Source hairpin to your far right, fly past your seats down the straight, and then compress heavily as they charge headlong (and at full speed 😲) directly into the jaw-dropping combination of Eau Rouge and Raidillon.

Highlights

The Velocity Build: This spot is phenomenal for appreciating sheer mechanical acceleration. You watch the cars transition from a crawl out of Turn 1 to screaming at speeds over 290 km/h right in front of you.

Eau Rouge Panorama: Unlike the lower Gold stands on this straight, the elevated profile of Silver 1 provides an exceptional, unobstructed line of sight to watch the field dance through the iconic left-right flick of Eau Rouge and disappear over the blind crest of Raidillon.

Other Considerations

• The “Bring a Cushion” Rule: Calling Silver 1 a traditional “grandstand” is a stretch—it is actually a massive set of open concrete steps with painted lines indicating your designated “seat.” There are no plastic bucket chairs or backrests here. Sitting directly on cold, hard concrete for three straight days will take a toll on your body, so packing a portable seat cushion or a folded towel is an absolute necessity.
• Total Element Exposure: This grandstand is 100% uncovered. There is absolutely no protection from the sun or Spa’s unpredictable downpours. High-quality waterproof layers, a poncho, and sun protection are mandatory gear. On the flip side, because it is an open concrete bleacher, it is much easier to stand up, stretch, and move past other spectators without forcing an entire row to shuffle out of their seats.
• Fancenter Hub & Gates: Logistics are a major selling point for Silver 1. It sits right beside the Ster entrance gate and is highly accessible from the Yellow and Blue Parking lots. Even better, the main F1 Fan Zone—complete with the biggest concentration of food stalls, official merchandise trailers, and interactive displays—is located just down the hill towards Eau Rouge, making midday food runs incredibly quick as long as you don’t mind a minor hill climb on your way back.

Gold 2 GP2

Viewing Description

Gold 2 GP2 grandstands sit right beside the Silver 1 bleachers on the outside of the downhill blast connecting La Source to Eau Rouge. However, while they share the same stretch of asphalt, Gold 2 provides a completely different physical perspective and comfort level.

The grandstand is built high up on a natural banking and starts significantly elevated off the ground which means even row 1 is perched well above track level. The entire structure is subtly angled outward rather than running strictly parallel to the straight. This smart layout ensures that every single seat has an unobstructed line of sight between La Source, Eau Rouge, and over the crest of Raidillon.

Highlights

The Launching Pad: You catch the cars right as they hit maximum acceleration. They scream past you, hitting massive speeds before dipping into the compression zone of Eau Rouge. Given that La Source is often a great passing zone, side-by-side battles down this straight are common.

First-Lap Overflow: While you won’t see the braking point into Turn 1, you have a perfect view of the wide asphalt run-off area on the exit of La Source, where cars routinely spill wide or clip wheels during a chaotic opening lap.

Gold 2 GP2 vs SIlver 1

These two grandstands are side-by-side, yet have very different price points. Here’s why…

• Comfort: Silver 1 features bare concrete steps where you sit on painted lines. Gold 2 upgrades you to individual plastic chairs with proper, fixed seat-backs. Your lower-back will thank you for the upgrade come Sunday afternoon. 😉
• Elevation: Gold 2 is built higher off the ground than Silver 1. Even the lowest rows in Gold 2 look over the safety fence, making it a drastically superior option for photography. The higher the better for maximizing viewing angles.
• Coverage (overhead): Gold 2 features a permanent overhead roof, whereas Silver 1 leaves you completely exposed to the elements. Rain is a persistent threat so plan accordingly.

Other Considerations

• The High Roof Mistake: Do not throw away your rain gear just because Gold 2 is covered. The canopy roof is built exceptionally high. If Spa treats you to a typical storm with driving, horizontal winds, the lower rows and side sections will get wet. Try to book mid-to-high rows to secure maximum shelter.
• Perfect Fan Zone Access: Logistics here are brilliant. Like Silver 1, this stand is a quick, easy walk from the Ster entrance gate and the both Yellow and Blue Parking lots. Best of all, the main F1 Village and Fan Zone hubs sit a short downhill jaunt from this section offering the track’s best selection of food, drink, and restrooms.

Fanzone (Silver 2)

Viewing Description

The Fanzone grandstand sits at the lowest point of the valley on the outside of the downhill straight, at the base of Eau Rouge. Because it is positioned further down the hill than Silver 1 and Gold 2, the perspective of speed here is intense and driver’s take high-risk maneuvers for position.

The grandstand is low and parallel to the track but to the right, you can see up the hill towards the exit of La Source all the way through the crest past Raidillon. Sitting low gives a a true impression of the hill climb drivers undertake through this section. Camera angles you’re used to from televised events just don’t do it justice. It’s immense!

Highlights

Maximum Downforce: This is one of the absolute best spots on the track to see the physical forces of a race car. You are close enough to watch the front wing or splitters (depending on the race class) clip the track surface as the suspension bottoms out at the entry of Eau Rouge.

The Eau Rouge Climb: You have a unique view of the cars dancing through the left-to-right flick of the hill. They appear massive at the bottom of the corner and then rapidly shrink as they scale the vertical wall of Raidillon at high speed.

Other Considerations

• Aim High and Left: To get the absolute most out of your view, target higher rows on the left side of the stands (facing the track). Because the track drops down a hill, the left side of the grandstand is physically higher off the ground than the right. Sitting high up on the left gives you a vastly superior vantage point to peer over the catch fencing whereas sitting too far to the right could jeopardize your view back towards La Source.
• Total Rain Exposure: There is zero overhead cover here. When the clouds inevitably roll in over the Ardennes forest, this entire grandstand takes the full brunt of the weather. Compounding this, because it sits at the absolute lowest point of the natural valley, water naturally pools behind and underneath the grandstand structure. High-quality waterproof shoes and a heavy-duty poncho are non-negotiable.
• Unrivaled Backstage Access: The biggest selling point of this stand is its name—it backs directly up to the main F1 Fanzone. You are literally steps away from the main entertainment stage, driver interviews, interactive simulator tents, and the largest cluster of official merchandise and food vendors on the circuit. If you like popping out between sessions for a fresh snacks or beer without missing a minute of track action, this location cannot be beaten.

Gold 4 Eau Rouge

Viewing Description

Gold 4 is a purist’s dream, but not without negative aspects. It’s sits nearer to the track than Gold 3 right at the apex of turn 3 which might one of the most recognizable pieces of asphalt in racing. It’s intimate, high-speed, and exhilarating. However, it comes at a steep price if the “All-In” ticket is the only offering available.

Unlike the massive, covered permanent structures nearby, Gold 4 is built much closer to the track surface. The cars dive down the hill from La Source, bottom out at the absolute floor of the valley, and then snake directly toward your seats as they begin their ascent through Raidillon and on towards the Kemmel Straight.

Highlights

Proximity: Because the grandstand sits right on the apex of the sweeping uphill right-hander, the cars feel incredibly close. You can clearly see the violent chassis vibrations and tire distortions as drivers try to keep their cars pinned flat-out up the hill.

The Blind Crest Drop: You have a side-on, panoramic view of the field tracking through Eau Rouge. The cars approach from your right, charge directly across your field of view, and then aggressively disappear over the blind crest of Raidillon to your left. It’s dangerous and exhilarating to observe up close.

Downhill Glimpse: If you sit in the highest rows of the right-hand sections, you can peer right over the top of the old pit buildings to watch the cars filtering down the hill out of the Turn 1 La Source hairpin.

Other Considerations

• The Umbrella Nightmare: Despite the “Gold” designation and price tag, Gold 4 is a temporary metal bleacher structure with no overhead roof. This means you are completely exposed to Spa’s elements. Crucially, when the rain hits, fans in front of you will open umbrellas (tsk, tsk!). Because the grandstand is less steep than others, open umbrellas in the rows below will completely destroy your sightlines.
• Avoid the Front Rows: The trackside safety catch fencing is exceptionally tall along this steep climbing zone. If you book seats in lower rows, your entire view of the cars cutting across the apex will be heavily compromised by fencing, making high-speed panning photography highly frustrating. Aim for higher rows to elevate your view cleanly above the fence.
• Steep Hiking: While Gold 4 sits right on the edge of the bustling main Fanzone hub (giving you instant access to the track’s best food, drink, and merchandise stalls), reaching the stand requires hiking a steep, unpaved gravel path. It is not an ideal choice for anyone with limited mobility.

Gold 3 Eau Rouge

Viewing Description

Gold 3 is a massive, permanent grandstand perched proudly at the very summit of Raidillon on the outside of the circuit. This structure is exceptionally high and steeply tiered, providing what is widely considered one of the single greatest panoramic views in all of motorsport.

Looking to your right, you look straight down the track all the way back to La Source. You can see the cars exit La Source in the distance, plunge down the hill, snap through the left-hander of Eau Rouge, and charge directly up the hillside towards your eye level before they slingshot past you onto the Kemmel Straight (out of sight).

Highlights

The Panorama: Because of its immense natural elevation, your view isn’t just limited to the track surface. You get a sweeping view of the entire Ardennes forest valley to complement the picturesque circuit directly in front of you.

Crest of Raidillon: Sitting at the top of the hill allows you to witness the exact moment the cars go light over the blind crest. You are in the prime position to watch drivers battle for micro-seconds as they attempt to take this legendary section entirely flat-out.

Chicane Glimpse: If you sit in the highest rows near the middle, you can actually peer across the inside of the circuit to catch a distant glimpse of the cars navigating the final Bus Stop chicane before they hit the main straight.

Gold 4 vs Gold 3

These two grandstands are side-by-side, the experience in each will be different. Here’s why…

Coverage (overhead): Gold 3 features a permanent overhead roof, whereas Gold 4 leaves you completely exposed to the elements. That’s right, you’re paying a premium to sit in an uncovered grandstand. 🤔 Rain is a persistent threat so plan accordingly.

Elevation: Gold 3 is built higher off the ground and is much larger than Gold 4. Even the lowest rows in Gold 3 look over the safety fence, making it a drastically superior option for photography. The higher the better for maximizing viewing angles (in both grandstands).

Other Considerations

• No Back Support Benches: Despite the premium “Gold” status and pricing tier, the seating configuration here consists of molded plastic bench seats without individual backrests. Because the grandstand layout packs fans in tightly, packing a quality, compact seat cushion to safeguard your lower back over a three-day weekend is highly recommended.
• The High-Roof Rain Line: Gold 3 features a massive permanent roof, which is a major asset at a track where rain is practically guaranteed. However, because the grandstand is so steeply tiered, the canopy is positioned very high in the air. If the wind is blowing, lower rows and the outermost edges will still catch plenty of rain. Try to book rows from the middle to the top.
• Steep Hiking: While Gold 3 sits near the edge of the bustling main Fanzone hub (giving you instant access to the track’s best food, drink, and merchandise stalls), reaching the stand requires hiking a steep, unpaved gravel path. It is not an ideal choice for anyone with limited mobility.

Gold 5 Champions Club

Viewing Description

Gold 5 is a specialized, exclusive grandstand reserved solely for fans purchasing official F1 Experiences Champions Club ticket packages. Unlike nearly all other grandstands that sit on the perimeter of the circuit, Gold 5 is positioned on the inside infield of the track, nestled directly at the base of the Eau Rouge and Raidillon complex.

From these seats, you face the straight between La Source and Eau Rouge. To your right, the cars make there way through the iconic sweeping left-to-right uphill turns. You get a true appreciation of the mechanical downforce, steep incline, and raw speed at which the drivers are navigating this section of the track. It gives you an increased appreciation for their skill and courage.

Highlights

Unique Photo Angles: Because this is an infield position, you avoid the traditional perimeter catch-fencing angles. You can snap distinct photos of the cars framing the dramatic elevation changes with the older pit lane structures, iconic grandstands (Gold 2 & Gold 3), and rolling hills in the background.

The VIP Flow: Sitting here allows you to seamlessly transition back and forth between your premium grandstand seat and the adjacent luxury hospitality suite.

Other Considerations

• The High-End Perks: Because this is an all-inclusive VIP package rather than a standard grandstand ticket, your weekend includes premium perks behind the scenes. These typically feature an expert-guided F1 Paddock tour, an on-track grid walk, special guest appearances from F1 media personalities or legendary drivers, and a professional photo opportunity with an authentic World Championship trophy.
• Infield Access Logistics: Reaching Gold 5 requires a completely different logistical approach than the La Source perimeter stands. You will want to utilize the Ster entrance gate (conveniently close to Yellow Parking). From there, you will navigate down into the valley and cross into the circuit’s interior infield via the spectator tunnels near the main Fanzone. Because you are on the inside of the track, you have incredibly fast, flat access to the main F1 Fanzone whenever you want to step out of the VIP area.

Combes 1, 2, 3, 4

Viewing Description

The Combes grandstand complex is a massive fan-favorite zone situated at the far southern end of the circuit beyond the high-speed Kemmel Straight. Rather that sitting outside the Les Combes chicane, it’s actually positioned on the outside of the circuit between Turn 7 Malmedy and Turn 8 Bruxelles-Rivage. This area is split into two halves containing four distinct blocks. Because the track is exceptionally narrow through this section, the grandstands sit remarkably close to the asphalt compared to other grandstands.

From these seats, you look directly across a technical, downward-sloping stretch of the circuit. The cars fly through the rapid Les Combes chicane, flick through the tight right-hander at Malmedy, and then accelerate downhill straight in front of you toward the sweeping hairpin of Bruxelles.

Highlights

Overtaking Hotspot: While you won’t see the initial braking zone at the end of the Kemmel Straight, you get a front-row seat to the immediate execution of those passes. You will watch drivers fight side-by-side out of the chicane, jostle for traction, and execute late-braking switchbacks into the downhill complex.

Track Proximity: Because there are no massive run-off areas here, the grandstands are separated from the track by little more than grass and standard barriers. The visual clarity and roaring engine volume as cars shift gears right in front of you are spectacular.

Screen Proximity: Unlike the sweeping valley views where screens are far away, the giant TVs here are positioned right across the track. This makes tracking the rest of the race or reading leaderboard data completely effortless.

Combes grandstand Block breakdown

Combes 1 (Uncovered – Closest to Malmedy): Positioned on the far right of the complex. This block offers the best look at the cars exiting Malmedy. However, your downhill view of Bruxelles will be partially obscured by spectators to your left.

Combes 2 (Covered – Middle-Right): Offers a highly balanced, central view of the downhill acceleration zone with the massive benefit of full overhead weather shelter.

Combes 3 (Covered – Middle-Left): Shares the premium weather roof with Combes 2 but shifts your sightline down the hill, giving you a better angle to watch the cars prepare for the heavy braking zone into Bruxelles.

Combes 4 (Uncovered – Closest to Bruxelles): Positioned on the far left of the complex. You can track the cars turning deeply into the hairpin and watch them search for grip before they disappear around the apex.

Other Considerations

• The 2026 Roof Divide: A critical upgrade was introduced for the 2026 season: Blocks 2 and 3 are now fully covered, while Blocks 1 and 4 remain completely uncovered. If you value premium protection from the Belgian elements, aim squarely for the middle blocks. If you are sitting in 1 or 4, packing high-quality ponchos and all-weather gear is mandatory.
• Catch-Fencing: Because the grandstands are close to the track and sit on a relatively low natural bank, a robust safety catch fence runs right in front of the structure. If you sit in lower rows, you will be looking at the cars directly through wire mesh. To secure an unobstructed view for crisp panning photography, aim for higher rows as usual.
• Camping Advantage: If you are staying at one of the popular, lively off-track campgrounds surrounding the circuit, the Combes complex is great pairing. It sits a brief 10-minute walk from the Combes entry gates. You can easily stroll to your seats from the Green Parking areas without having to navigate the steep, exhausting valley trails.
• Fanzone Disadvantage: The major trade-off for sitting up here is your distance from the main F1 Fanzone at the bottom of the valley. While the Combes area features its own dedicated cluster of food trucks, restrooms, and basic merchandise stalls right behind the grandstands, hiking down to the main entertainment stage or support paddocks is a long walk and includes a steep 25-to-35-minute walk back.

Silver 4 Bruxelles

Viewing Description

Silver 4 Bruxelles sits at southern-most point of the circuit, located on the outer edge of Turn 8 (Bruxelles or Rivage). The grandstand is positioned uniquely, facing almost directly back toward the entry point of the corner looking down the straight rather than running parallel to the apex.

From these seats, you look straight down the short chute coming out of Malmedy. The cars rocket downhill directly toward you before braking heavily and positioning for a potential attack or defect before rotating through the slow, sweeping, 180-degree right-hand hairpin of Bruxelles.

Highlights

The Technical Apex: Bruxelles is a long, off-camber, downhill corner where drivers have to fight for front-end grip. You are perfectly positioned to watch the drivers modulate the throttle and struggle with understeer as the cars drift toward the exit kerbs or risk getting shoved off into the gravel.

Lock-Up Hotspot: Because the entry to Turn 8 drops away downhill under braking, it is incredibly easy for drivers to misjudge the weight transfer. You will see a high volume of front-tire lock-ups, smoke, and minor mistakes, especially during the frantic early laps.

Other Considerations

• Budget-Friendly Coverage: The roof design is incredibly effective; it drops down lower at the front edge compared to the Gold stands down the hill. This provides reliable protection from the elements for all rows, making it arguably the best value “budget-friendly roof” at the circuit.
• Unavoidable Catch Fencing: Because this grandstand is positioned relatively low to the ground and right up against a major heavy-braking zone, a very tall safety catch fence runs across your entire field of view. Unlike the highly elevated hillside stands, you will be looking through the wire mesh from almost every row.
• Camping Advantage: If you are staying at one of the popular, lively off-track campgrounds surrounding the circuit, Silver 4 Bruxelles is a great pairing. It sits a brief 10-minute walk from the Combes entry gates. You can easily stroll to your seats from the Green Parking areas without having to navigate the steep, exhausting valley trails.
• Fanzone Disadvantage: The major trade-off for sitting up here is your distance from the main F1 Fanzone at the bottom of the valley. There is a solid village of food trucks, beer stalls, and basic restrooms behind the stand and nearby at the Les Combes grandstands. Hiking down to the main entertainment stage or support paddocks is a long walk and includes a steep 25-to-35-minute walk back.

Speed Corner

Viewing Description

The Speed Corner grandstand is a temporary structure erected on the outer downhill side of Turn 9.

From these seats, you watch the cars navigate a moderate-speed Turn 9 by using every millimeter of the exit curbing before a gravity-assisted acceleration down the hill toward the entry of Pouhon to your left.

Highlights

Oversteer Challenge: Turn 9 is notorious for oversteer because the corner drops away downhill and features an off-camber slope. Drivers frequently lose the rear-end here during qualifying runs as they try to carry maximum speed through the apex.

The Run to Pouhon: If you are sitting in the higher rows on the left side of the grandstand, you can track the cars for a few extra seconds as they plunge down the straight toward the double-apex monster of Pouhon

Other Considerations

• No Coverage: Speed Corner is a standard, temporary metal bleacher structure with no overhead roof. There is absolutely no protection from the sun or Spa’s inevitable downpours. High-quality waterproof layers, a poncho, and sun protection are mandatory gear.
• Catch Fence Obstruction: Because this stand sits right at the apex of a high-speed corner, the safety catch fencing is exceptionally tall. The grandstand isn’t steep and lower rows start near ground-level. Lower rows will be looking at the cars entirely through the fence. As usual, higher rows are desirable for clear sight lines and photographs.
• Isolated: This is the most isolated grandstand on the circuit. The only entrance is from the south around Silver 4. Any trips for food, toilets, or other experiences around the circuit require moderate hikes up and down the hills. A trip to the Fanzone or paddock is easily a 45 minute walk.

Silver 3 Pouhon

Viewing Description

Silver 3 Pouhon is a large fan-favorite grandstand situated on the outside of Turn 10, the legendary Pouhon (also widely known as Double Gauche which is French for Double Left). Built on a natural, elevated hillside bank, the grandstand is positioned perfectly right between the two fast apexes of this massive, sweeping corner.

From these seats, you watch the cars fly down the hill out of Speed Corner to your far left. They anchor a tiny amount of brake at nearly 300 km/h, throw the car into the terrifying first left-hand apex directly in front of you, and hold a blistering flat-out line through the second apex before rocketing off toward the Les Fagnes chicane to your right.

Highlights

Aerodynamic Showcase: If you want a masterclass in modern racing downforce, this is the best seat at Spa. Watching an F1 car completely glued to the tarmac while pulling massive lateral G-forces through an incredibly fast corner is an exhilarating experience.

Edge-of-Control Moments: Because drivers push the absolute limits of mechanical grip here, practice and qualifying runs can be lively. You will witness plenty of high-speed tail-slides, snap-oversteer corrections, and spectacular saves right over the exit curbing and into the large gravel run-off.

Other Considerations

• Coverage: As of 2026, Silver 3 Pouhon is now a fully covered grandstand. Given Spa’s notorious reputation for torrential downpours, having a permanent roof over a premium Silver-tier seat is an asset.
• Setback and High Fence: Because Pouhon requires a vast tarmac and gravel run-off zone for safety, the grandstand is naturally set back a fair distance from the actual edge of the track. Additionally, a tall safety catch fence still lines the circuit here. Lower rows will have their direct line-of-sight compromised. Aim to book a seat in the highest rows possible to clear the fence and get clean, professional panning shots of the cars carving through the double apex.
• Left vs. Right: This is a wide grandstand, and your section assignment alters the perspective. Sitting in the left-hand sections prioritizes a head-on look at the terrifying entry speed of the first apex. The right-hand sections, prioritize a superior view of the cars accelerating hard out of the second apex and heading straight into the entry of Les Fagnes.
• Isolated Location: Reaching Silver 3 Pouhon requires physical commitment. It sits at the lowest, deepest point of the natural valley floor, completely isolated on the interior side of the forest loop. Reaching it from the Combes entry gate or Green Parking zones requires a steep downhill hike which becomes more complicated if weather rolls in. It’s paved but may be treacherous and gong off-road will be a muddy adventure at best. There is a decent independent village of food trucks and restrooms nearby, but trekking back to the main F1 Fanzone at Raidillon requires a 25-to-30-minute walk though the forest.

Verstappen

Viewing Description

The Max Verstappen Grandstand is a temporary structure erected exclusively through Verstappen Travel for the “Orange Army.” The grandstand is positioned between the exit of Pouhon and the entry of the Les Fagnes chicane.

Starting from the left, you watch the cars complete the high-downforce sweep through the second apex of Pouhon. They explode down the straight right past the grandstand before stomping on the brakes to set up the sharp right-handed entry into the Les Fagnes chicane to your right.

Highlights

Max Acceleration: While you miss the apex of Pouhon, you catch the cars at absolute maximum throttle right as they exit the corner. It’s a visceral auditory and visual experience as the cars attempt to maximize their advantage in a technically complex area of the circuit.

Les Fagnes Entry: If you sit in the right-hand sections of the grandstand, you have the best view view of the heavy braking zone into the chicane for this section. You can watch the drivers wrestle the car down from top speed and bounce aggressively over the entry curbs — albeit, at a distance.

Other Considerations

• The Wild “Orange Army” Atmosphere: You do not buy a ticket here purely for the view; you buy it for the party. This grandstand is a sea of orange t-shirts, roaring fans, and intense energy. There is a dedicated DJ booth facing the crowd to pump music between sessions. If you want a quiet, analytical race-viewing experience, avoid this stand. If you want to lose your voice chanting and waving orange flares, this is as good as it gets.
• No Coverage: The Verstappen Grandstand is 100% uncovered and completely open to the elements. Because it sits in a relatively low, open part of the valley corridor, it gets heavily buffeted by wind and catches the absolute brunt of Spa’s unpredictable rainstorms. Packing heavy-duty rain gear and ponchos is mandatory.
• Potential Visual Obstructions: The grandstand sits in a flat area and has a notably shallow incline compared to the permanent structures elsewhere. Because you sit right next to the high-speed safety perimeter fence, almost every row (even the highest ones) will look at the track through wire catch-fencing. This makes professional, crisp panning photography very frustrating from this location. Additionally, the Fan Zone Double Gauche grandstand sits directly to the right which has overhead coverage that will reduce visibility towards the chicane.
• Red Parking: If you secure Red Parking, you can walk through a dedicated tunnel beneath the circuit and arrive at the far end of this grouping of grandstands and avoid the a legendary hike from elsewhere. However, the trade-off is identical to Pouhon: you are far removed from the main F1 Fanzone on the far side of the circuit. Instead, the independent secondary fan zone sits directly behind these grandstands. It features its own extensive lineup of food trucks, bars, official merchandise tents, and restroom facilities.

Fan Area Double Gauche, Silver 5, Silver 6

Viewing Description

This trio of grandstands — Fan Area Double Gauche, Silver 5, and Silver 6 — forms a continuous wall of seating on the infield edge of the circuit, capturing the critical link between the high-speed exit of Pouhon and the Les Fagnes chicane.

Situated beside the Verstappen grandstand, the views are generally the same with this set of stands sitting nearer the chicane. This prioritizes a closer view of drivers navigating the chicane entrance as opposed to the exit of Pouhon.

Highlights

Chicane Dynamics: Unlike the Verstappen stand up the road, these seats give you a front-row view of the intense weight transfer of an F1 car. You get to watch the cars shed massive speed, ride the inside entry kerbs of Turn 12, and immediately flick left for Turn 13.

Late-Braking Duels: This short chute is a primary zone for late-braking maneuvers. You will see drivers pull out of slipstreams to attempt inside passing moves right before the apex of the chicane.

Curb-Hopping Errors: Because drivers try to carry maximum momentum into the slow sector, they routinely take too much curb at Les Fagnes. You will see plenty of cars get unsettled, bounce wildly, and lose traction on the exit.

Fan Area vs Silver 5 & 6

Area 17-27 Blanchimont

Viewing Description

The 17–27 Blanchimont grandstand is a highly specialized, restricted-access zone located at the southeastern edge of the circuit. Situated on a high, natural hillside bank, this structure runs parallel to the high-speed blast between Turn 14 Stavelot and Turn 15 Curve Paul Frère.

From these seats, you look directly across a relatively high speed but equally picturesque stretch of the track as it carves through the dense Ardennes forest. The cars exit the technical Les Fagnes chicane, accelerate directly toward the grandstand and then prepare for a moderate speed corner through the sweeping right-hander of Stavelot and out toward the Blanchimont straightaway.

Highlights

Downforce Demonstration: Because this section is dominated by fast, flowing bends rather than heavy braking, it is an exceptional place to watch modern F1 aerodynamics at work. You get to see the cars tracking at blistering speeds, perfectly glued to the asphalt.

Auditory Treat: Sitting deep in the forest valley creates a natural acoustic amphitheatre. The sound of the power units bouncing off the trees as cars fly past your face is intense.

Panoramic Sightlines: Due to the elevated positioning of the main grandstand block, sitting near the top allows you to trace the cars across an a long piece of track before they disappear toward Blanchimont. Meanwhile, the Ardennes creates a wonderful natural backdrop to the afternoon’s events.

Other Considerations

• Strict Age Gate: You cannot buy a ticket here unless you are between the ages of 17 and 27 on race weekend. It is a highly discounted, youth-focused initiative designed to make Formula 1 accessible to a younger demographic. Security checks age IDs at the entrance to this zone. If you are outside this age bracket, you will be denied entry.
• No Assigned Seating: The 17–27 stand features unreserved wooden bleacher seating. It operates entirely on a first-come, first-served basis. Because tickets are routinely overbooked, the grandstand fills up early. If you roll up 30 minutes before a session, you will likely find the seats completely packed, forcing you to watch from the surrounding grass banks. Arriving early in the morning is mandatory to secure a spot on the actual wooden benches.
• Music Festival Atmosphere: The 17–27 zone features its own dedicated “Young Village” right behind the stand, complete with a live DJ booth inside the grandstand itself, music playing between sessions, and party-centric bar areas that run late into the night. It feels much more like a summer music festival than a sporting event.
• No Coverage: The structure is completely open and uncovered. Compounding this, the wooden benches absorb moisture quickly when it rains. Bringing a waterproof seat cushion, heavy-duty ponchos, and extra layers is essential to survive the elements.

Gold 6 Chicane

Viewing Description

The Gold 6 grandstand is situated on the outside edge of the circuit’s final set of turns, running completely parallel to the entry of the tight right-left Bus Stop chicane. It sits at just above ground level, placing you close to the asphalt at the hard deceleration entry zone at the end of a high speed zone.

From these seats, you look to your right to watch the cars fly out of the sweeping Blanchimont curve. They track toward you at full speed before drivers violently stand on the brakes and navigate the tight chicane and pit lane entrance right in front of the grandstand. You’ll see the cars exist the chicane and start to accelerate down the start-finish straight but the view will be cutoff before the start-finish line by the Gold 11 grandstands immediately to the left.

Highlights

The Premier Overtaking Zone: This is arguably the most active passing hotspot on the entire track. You will witness countless late-braking duels, side-by-side skirmishes, and desperate, last-gasp lunges into the chicane.

Hard Brake Zone: Sitting this close to a 5-G deceleration zone allows you to see the true physical force of an F1 car under full braking. If the lighting is right, you’ll witness glowing brake discs, rear-end instability under heavy load, and front tires locking up and smoking as drivers look for grip.

Pit Lane Entry: The pit lane entrance splits off directly in front of this grandstand. During changeable weather or safety car windows, you will have a front-row seat to the frantic, split-second decisions of drivers diving into the pit lane lane right before the chicane apex.

Other Considerations

• Catch Fencing: A tall safety catch fence sits in front of the entire grandstand given it’s location and proximity to the action. Lower rows 5 sit almost eye-level with the wire mesh. If you want an unobstructed line-of-sight to capture clean panning shots of the cars, secure seats in the higher rows.
• Coverage: While Gold 6 Chicane features a roof canopy, the grandstand structure does not have enclosed side walls. Spa is famous for its driving, sideways wind and rain. If you end up on the outermost edges, a strong crosswind will blow rain right into the stand, meaning high-quality waterproof gear is still highly recommended.
• Easy Entry: The grandstand is a 20-to-25-minute walk from the La Source or Ster entrance gates, utilizing the main spectator tunnels near the Fanzone. Because it sits right at the bottom corner of the main paddock area, you have rapid, flat access to the primary F1 Fanzone hub for premium food, driver stages, and team merchandise huts.

Gold 11 Chicane

Viewing Description

Gold 11 Chicane is situated on the outside of the track, positioned right at the exit of the Bus Stop chicane. While its neighbour, Gold 6, captures the heavy braking entry zone, Gold 11 focuses heavily on the technical exit, the pit lane entry, and the critical traction run down the main start-finish straight.

From these seats, you watch the cars complete their heavy deceleration and wrestle through the tight apex of the chicane. They then snap left directly in front of you, fighting for rear traction as they climb all over the exit curbing and bury the throttle to blast down the pit straight toward La Source.

Highlights

Acceleration Showcase: Because the cars are exiting the slowest complex on the track (around 70–80 km/h), Gold 11 Chicane is an incredible place to observe raw mechanical acceleration. You can see the rear tires squirming under torque and hear the engines completely unload as drivers floor the gas.

Pit Lane and Garage Views: Positioned right where the track meets the main paddock infrastructure, you look directly across at the pit lane entry and the initial team garage boxes.

Other Considerations

• VIP Pack: Gold 11 is unique because it is bundled as a premium “Chicane VIP” ticket package. Rather than just a standard seat, your ticket includes a high-end, catered premium lunch box delivered daily, alongside a VIP parking pass (typically in the Blue/Yellow zones close to the gates) for every two tickets purchased.
• Podiums View: Depending on your section assignment, sitting in Gold 11 gives you an excellent, unobstructed angle looking down towards the podium tower situated over the pit buildings. If you want to watch the post-race trophy presentations and champagne spraying right from your grandstand seat without joining the chaotic track invasion down below, this is one of the best spots on the circuit.
• Excellent Safety Fence Clearance: Unlike Gold 6 where the low height forces you to look straight through heavy wire mesh at a direct impact zone, Gold 11’s exit positioning gives you a much better photographic window. The cars are traveling slower as they exit the corner right in front of you, and sitting in the mid-to-upper rows clears the catch fencing beautifully for crisp, clear photos.
• Elite Gate and Fanzone Access: Gold 11 is a flat, easy 10-to-15-minute walk from the La Source entrance gate. Furthermore, because it sits directly at the base of the paddock, you are only steps away from the main F1 Fanzone hub, meaning you can easily grab official merchandise or hit the main food village between sessions without traversing the circuit’s hilly terrain.

General Admission

Viewing Description

Large sections of the track are accessible for GA spectators. The view is dependent on where you are located around the circuit. The best viewing locations are usually staked out by early arrivals and require a real commitment to stay in place to maintain that position (or friendly short-term neighbours which are plentiful 😉). Many of the GA areas are banked (steeply) so unlike some other tracks where the best views are up against the fence, you’ll likely have a good view of the area immediately in front of you and staking out a higher elevation may be beneficial. Given the pricing of some of the grandstands, GA is a great low-price way to experience a race weekend and provides maximum mobility if you prefer to view events from many different locations throughout the weekend.

Other Considerations

• Micro-climate: Weather in the Ardennes forest changes at a rapid pace. You can easily experience blasting heat, dense fog, and a torrential thunderstorm all in the span of a single afternoon. Packing high-quality waterproof jackets, clear ponchos, and multiple spare layers is non-negotiable.
• No Reservations: On Friday and Saturday, the track is highly accessible, making it the perfect time to hike around and scout positions. However, on Sunday, the absolute best vantage points (such as the banks of Pouhon or the top of the Kemmel Straight) fill up almost immediately after the gates open. If you do not have someone actively physically anchoring your spot while you grab food or use the restroom, it will be claimed within minutes.
• Invest in an “Ardennes Survival Kit”: Because the viewing banks are steep natural grass slopes rather than paved terraces, standard folding chairs can slide or collapse on uneven ground. A compact camping chair with adjustable legs is a major asset. Additionally, packing a cheap waterproof picnic mat or an entrenching tool/small spade to dig a flat “step” into the mud to sit on is a legendary, decades-old local fan tradition (although I can’t confirm if this type of item would make it through security so don’t bring anything you can’t discard at the gate if it gets flagged by security).
• Mud-Grade Footwear Mandatory: Leave the clean white sneakers or thin-soled sandals at home. A General Admission weekend at Spa means embarking on a multi-mile mountain hike every single day across dirt trails, loose gravel, and steep inclines. If it rains even a tiny amount, the grass banks instantly transform into slick, muddy slides. Sturdy, broken-in hiking boots or trail shoes with serious grip are absolute prerequisites.
• BYO Provisions: While Spa has built out local food truck villages near the main GA pockets, the sheer scale of the crowds means food and drink lines can easily consume over an hour of your day. Luckily, Spa is incredibly permissive about letting you bring your own food and drinks into the venue (just leave the glass at home). Pack a heavy-duty backpack with lunch, snacks, and plenty of water.
